MEET T.Y.P TEAM

Owner & Clinical Director
Latoya L. LCSW, LCADC
Hello, and welcome to T.Y.P Therapy! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Licensed Clinical Drug and Alcohol Counselor, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist in New Jersey. I graduated with a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Social Work from Seton Hall University with a concentration in mental health and substance abuse. I have over ten years of experience in the field, working with children, adults, families, and vulnerable populations as an agent of change. My specialty is working with individuals ages 16-40 navigating and overcoming various life issues. No problem is too big or small for the US to conquer. As a Caribbean American of Jamaican descent, I want to help others break barriers and eliminate the stigma associated with mental health.
I am very versatile, having experience working in group homes, child services, psychiatric hospitals, inpatient/outpatient addiction treatment centers, and county jails. I specialize in techniques such as cognitive-behavioral, behavior therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, strength-based, solution-focused, person-centered, and humanistic approaches.
I am always eager and willing to expand my knowledge and continuously broaden my horizons on other therapeutic modalities and techniques. I have helped children, adults, couples, and families get close to/ reach the life goal of self-actualization.
I strongly believe that change happens when people are given the guidance, they need to draw on their strengths to take charge of their lives.

Hello, my name is Kathryne. I am a Master’s level Student Intern at Rutgers University. I have over 10 years of experience working with individuals and families who suffer from various complex traumas, PTSD, Depression, Domestic Violence, Anxiety, and Substance Use issues. My passion is to help clients find their strengths and achieve the goals they have set for themselves through collaboration, strengths-based techniques, and trauma-informed therapeutic practices.
My goal is to assist adolescents and adults with finding the coping skills and techniques needed to help them heal and move forward while providing the tools and resources they need to heal in a welcoming, non-judgmental, and safe space.

Yolonda V. MSW Intern
My name is Yolonda. I am a master’s level social work student at Grand Canyon University. I received my bachelor’s in healthcare management from Albany State University. I have over ten years of experience working with clients from various socioeconomic backgrounds and ages in the healthcare environment.
My passion for healthcare and social work was fostered by childhood and family experiences. As a teenager during my mother’s hospice stay, I knew the value of quality healthcare and the impact social sciences have on everyday life. With previous experience as a licensed CNA and a traveling phlebotomist, I want to provide care and commitment to supporting vulnerable adults, children, and families with resources, tools, and opportunities.
My approach involves identifying an individual’s strengths and building on them to find solutions. We can leverage those strengths to overcome challenges and succeed by recognizing what works well to empower individuals.
When working with me, you will get a seasoned advocate charged with making a change for the better for all clients.
